This is one of the many mysteries of Covid-19 that remains to be explored.

If the studies are gradually coming to remove some doubts about the transmission, the severity and the factors of vulnerability vis-à-vis this coronavirus, long Covid, these pathologies triggered after an infection that last for months, are still poorly understood.

And misunderstood.

Some adults complain of not having regained their sense of smell six months after their infection, others feel immense fatigue.

And these long Covids could also affect children and adolescents.

Lots of questions

To what extent?

This is the whole question.

A British study revealed in January 2021 that out of nearly 500,000 children positive for Covid-19, 12.9% of 2-11 year olds and 14.5% of 12-16 year olds still had symptoms five weeks after infection.

The most common symptoms are fatigue (12.7%), cough (12.4%), headache (11.1%) and loss of taste or smell (10.4%).

There are still many questions, and families seem to have difficulty obtaining clear information and appropriate follow-up when their children are confronted with these lasting symptoms.
