The basic remuneration for each loaned work is increased from SEK 1 and 92 öre, to SEK 2, from 2022. In 2023, the remuneration will be SEK 2 and 4 öre per loaned work.
The total compensation amounts to SEK 184,732,000, which is an increase of SEK 3,696,000 compared with 2021.
The library fee is paid annually by the state to the Swedish Authors' Fund so that the works of authors, illustrators and photographers can be lent out free of charge at libraries.
