The Los Angeles Supreme Court ruled not to satisfy the demand to end the custody of James Spears over his daughter, singer Britney Spears.

Earlier, the lawyer of the artist Samuel Ingham applied to the court with a corresponding petition.

"The motion to remove James Spears from the role of guardian immediately after the appointment of the Californian company Bessemer Trust as the sole manager of the property is rejected, with the plaintiffs retaining the right to sue on the same basis," said a document issued by the court on Wednesday.

Ingham filed a request to remove James Spears from his duties in November 2020, but to no avail.

At the same time, another guardian was appointed, the financial company Bessemer Trust.

Now the court has confirmed this decision.

According to the documents in the case, Britney Spears was found "largely unable to manage her finances, resist deception or undue influence."

Also Ingham on behalf of Britney Spears asked to appoint the permanent guardian of the singer Jodie Montgomery.

The latter has been responsible for the personal well-being and health of the artist since September 2019 - then James Spears was unable to fully fulfill his duties due to illness.

Since then, Montgomery has been Britney Spears' interim guardian.

Representatives of James Spears, however, doubt that this requirement comes from the singer herself: speaking in court on June 23, she said that she wants to end the guardianship in general and has disagreements with Montgomery.

Montgomery's lawyer, in turn, said that his client "tirelessly defends Britney's interests and her welfare."

During the trial, celebrities expressed support for Britney Spears.

The singer's colleague on the Mickey Mouse Club TV project Christina Aguilera has published a series of posts on Twitter.

She noted that she is familiar with the situation according to information from the media.

“It is unacceptable that any woman, any person who wants to control their own destiny, could not be allowed to live according to their own desires,” Aguilera began.

“When people close to you silence, ignore, bully or refuse to support you, this is the most devastating, destructive and offensive thing you can imagine,” the singer continued and urged the audience to take seriously the harmful effect a similar situation has on the human psyche.

Aguilera also stressed that every woman has the right to control her body, women's health, privacy and happiness.

“The persistence and despair with which this plea for freedom is made make me think that the person I once knew lives without compassion and does not receive a dignified attitude from the people who control her,” she shared her fears artist and once again reminded that Spears deserves happiness and freedom.

Cher spoke in support of the singer on the same platform.

The artist was especially outraged by the fact that Spears continued to perform and, at the same time, allegedly could not be held responsible for her actions.

"I have a question.

I've been performing since I was 19, and the gigs Britney and I have done are damn hard work!

What cocktail of drugs did they stuff her with to force her to perform, but not let her live her life ?!

Several times I heard that she looked like a zombie.

Her life has probably turned into a living hell, "- said Cher.

In her opinion, the very term "guardian" in relation to James Spears misleads the public, since it does not reflect the essence of the singer's relationship with her father.

“I saw what absolute power the guardian has over the person whom he must protect.

It was one of the most painful and sad moments that I have ever experienced.

Don't be fooled by the word "guardian"!

Pay attention to the ways in which they can receive money.

Britney was a prisoner, a cash cow and a completely adequate person, ”says Cher.

The singer Halsey also spoke out in defense of Britney Spears.

“I hope with all my heart that she will achieve liberation from this abusive system.

She deserves it above all else.

I admire her courageous decision to stand up for herself today, ”she posted on Twitter.

“Moreover, to hell with anyone who believes that they have the power, as an institution or as an individual, to control the reproductive health of an individual,” Halsey wrote in pursuit.

In addition, Spears was supported by Mariah Carey, Tinashe and other artists.

According to singer Liz Fair, Britney Spears fell victim to the centuries-old practice of declaring a woman insane in order to gain control of her property.

Oldest trick in the playbook of the patriarchy: declare a woman mad and gain control of her assets / property.

Jamie Lynn Spears, the singer's sister, also commented on the situation.

She shared her reasoning in Stories on the Instagram social network.

According to her, she is proud that Britney Spears expressed her position in court and requested the appointment of another lawyer - Jamie Lynn Spears claims that it was she who advised her sister to take this step for several years.

A relative of the artist stressed that she does not have any obligations to the public - including making statements.

“In my life I made a very conscious choice to participate in Britney’s life only as her sister and aunt of her sons,” said Jamie Lynn Spears.

She reassured the audience that she was not getting any benefit from having her sister in custody and noted that the current situation did not affect their interpersonal relationships.

“If, in order to be happy, she wants to end her custody and fly to Mars or whatever, - I will support her completely and completely, because I support my sister,” she concluded.

Britney Spears has been under guardianship since 2008. Her fans and many famous personalities have repeatedly demanded that the singer be able to control her own life. They spread posts on social media with the hashtag #freebritney.
