Scientists discover how a person dies of grief or a broken heart!

Scientists have finally revealed why some people sometimes die after suffering a heart break after grief or a broken relationship.

The scientists explained that sad events and stressful conditions increase the levels of two molecules in heart cells, which play an important role in the development of takotsubo cardiopathy, or what is known as “broken heart syndrome.” This syndrome occurs when the heart muscle suddenly weakens and the shape of the left heart valve changes.

Biological triggers of takotsubo syndrome have long puzzled scientists, but they have now been linked to microRNAs-16, the molecule responsible for regulating gene expression, and A26, which regulates how genes are decoded and activated during stressful times. These molecules are linked to depression, anxiety and stress.

For his part, the lead author of the study, Professor Sian Harding, said that takotsubo syndrome is a serious condition, but the cause behind it has remained a mystery until now, noting that the reason behind this condition occurs for some people, while it does not happen to many.

This discovery, by researchers at Imperial College London, paves the way for new treatment options that could prevent future deaths.

It is noteworthy that this syndrome is similar to the symptoms of a heart attack and leads to chest pain and shortness of breath and can cause the heart to stop beating, and the condition was first identified in Japan in 1990.
