[Explanation] Once a hot topic on the Internet, "Have you been so desperate for something?" This question is simple for the 93-year-old Li Shifan. In order to join the party, he and many of his comrades really fought hard on the battlefield.
To this day, the battle-tested soldier is still very excited when he recalls his experience when he joined the party.
Recently, he told reporters about the passionate years at the home of the Tenth Retirement Cadre Retreat in Shenyang, Liaoning Province Military Region.
[Explanation] In 1948, Li Shifan enlisted in the army in Siping City, Jilin Province.
After that, he participated in the famous Liaoshen Battle. When he first entered the battlefield, Li Shifan was not deterred by the continuous artillery fire.
On the contrary, he was impressed by the Communists among his comrades.
Their spirit of not being afraid of sacrificing and daring to be on the front line deeply moved him.
From then on, he knew that his army must be invincible, and he also had a desperate goal for it.

I think this army, this brave spirit, only the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party can have this spirit.
So I feel that this party, the Communist Party of China, I have to join.

[Explanation] Li Shifan, who was young at the time, had the first goal of his life. Since then, he has appeared in the most dangerous place in every battle. Now recalling, Li Shifan is still full of passion at that time.
Under his outstanding performance, in November 1949, Li Shifan, who was on the front line of the suppression of bandits in Hunan, was approved to join the party and became a reserve party member.
Recalling the scene at the time, he was still excited.

In the middle of the war, he (the instructor) grabbed me and said that you were about to join the party.
I was so happy when I heard it.
He slapped me, all in the trenches, slapped me, just said, "You are about to join the party, what do you say about the war? Patron is happy, and the fighting strength is getting stronger."
[Explanation] After becoming a party member, Li Shifan took the lead, fought more fiercely, and became a role model for his troops.
Under his exemplary role, the soldiers in his company all learned everything and worked hard to become a glorious member of the Chinese Communist Party.

The engineer company knew of the time bomb, what was happening, he (the soldier) heard the buzzing inside the time bomb, the timer.
Without leadership, I went up and ran in three steps and two steps, then unscrewed the timer, and ran out a hundred or so meters after finishing the work, and then cast it out. Suddenly the timer rang, and the time bomb was eliminated. Because of this incident, he was particularly brave, and we approved his application for party membership.
[Explanation] Looking back on the past, Li Shifan said that he has no regrets in this life, fighting for his highest pursuit in the best time.
And being approved to join the party in the year New China was founded is of great significance to him.
To this day, he still tells his children about the excitement and glory of having received two good news of the founding of New China and the possibility of joining the party in the muddy trenches. At the same time, he still educates his children to be worthy of a Chinese Communist Party. The mission and responsibilities of the staff.
