Anger among festival singers.. "Egyptian musicians" prevent the most prominent of them from singing

A state of anger erupted among festival singers in Egypt, after the Musicians’ Syndicate decided to prevent them from singing. The Council of the Syndicate of Musical Professions, headed by artist Hani Shaker, decided in its weekly meeting not to deal with a number of festival singers, most notably Hamu Beka, and included the decision issued by the Syndicate The musicians yesterday, the names of Hamo Beka, Mustafa Enaba, Muslim, Nou Eltoot and Ahmed Moza.

Sources from within the union told Al-Watan newspaper: "Anyone who is not a member of the union and who is not authorized to work is prohibited until their conditions in the union are corrected and the exams are passed."
