The DJ Bob Sinclair presents Monday in the program of Anne Roumanoff "It makes good" his new title "We could be dancing".

INTERVIEW

The TF1 telecrochet changed his life.

However, he has never been a candidate.

In 2005, four years after its launch, the

Star Academy program

offered a new credits and chose the song

Love Generation

, by French DJ, then almost unknown, Bob Sinclar.

Guest Monday of the show

It feels good

, he returns to the microphone of Anne Roumanoff on this moment which transformed his career.

Initially, Bob Sinclar did not want the TF1 show to use his title.

"No profanity: it's not a title that was created for

Star Academy,

" warns the DJ.

"I had created it upstream and it was already commercially available.

Star Academy was

looking for a new anthem. At first, I didn't want to."

"Don't close the door to success"

It must be said that the musical universe of the beginnings of Bob Sinclar is very far from that of the show.

"I come from very underground music. In the early 1990s, I set up my label Yellow Productions to produce electronic music," explains the DJ.

"Associating my music with a reality show was a very difficult idea."

It is finally a phone call from Pascal Nègre, then one of the great bosses of Universal Music who will then become a juror for seasons 6 and 7 of

Star Academy

, which makes him change his mind. "Look, don't turn down success. We're going to be number one. You're going to sell a lot. After ten years on your label and all you've done, it's not bad. Don't close the door to success ", he advises Bob Sinclar.

The DJ finally decides to trust Pascal Nègre and to accept that TF1 uses the song

Love Generation

. "Then we did live during

Star Academy

, so it was good, because we could be identifiable", rejoices Bob Sinclar. And indeed, following this change of credits of the telecrochet, the career of the DJ takes off.
