She explained that whoever is proven guilty or involved will be punished according to the law and will be held accountable, and the wrongdoer will be deterred immediately so that this does not happen again.

For his part, the head of the Egyptian Opera House, Dr. Magdy Saber, said in a statement that "what happened is unacceptable, humanely and morally, as we are not murderers."


He indicated that he assigned the Legal Affairs Department to follow up the case, investigate the workers, and empty the cameras to find the cat's killer.

He stressed that the opera administration does not deal with animals in this ugly way, and that due to the vastness of the opera grounds, there are often dogs, and the opera collects them and transports them to a shelter.

Over the past hours, the pioneers of social media sites circulated the hashtag “They killed the cat,” and the issue escalated to reach animal welfare associations, and everyone demanded that the officials at the Egyptian Opera House be prosecuted.
