Pu'er City in Yunnan Province is an important distribution area of wild Asian elephants in my country. There are as many as hundreds of Asian elephants in the territory, and the elephants entering the village for food once troubled the local villagers.

Recently, the reporter came to Mengzhu Village, Nanbanghe Village, Liushun Town, Simao District, Pu'er City, which is an area with frequent Asian elephant activities.

Since 2018, the local forestry and grass department has planned more than 4,000 acres of food source bases to plant plantains, corn, palm leaf reeds and other plants that Asian elephants like to eat by time and season. Currently, 1,200 acres have been opened for planting.

The elephant cafeteria provides important supplies for Asian elephants during the food shortage season, effectively reducing the number of elephants entering the village.
