Chinanews.com, Lanzhou, June 18 (Gao Kangdi Gaozhan) Every June, the Yellow River begins to enter the flood season.

During this period, the Yellow River water level was high and the flow velocity was rapid. This was a "dangerous period" for the people of Lanzhou who lived by the river, and it was also a period of high incidence of falling water accidents.

Lanzhou is the only capital city in China where the Yellow River passes through the city. The mother of the Yellow River has brought an endless source of life to this small northwest city. The Yellow River in summer is even more lively.

Zhongshan Bridge, a century-old iron bridge that straddles the Yellow River, has become a tourist attraction for tourists from home and abroad to check in. The tree-lined "tea stall economy" on the Yellow River has also opened up, waiting for the enthusiastic sheepskin rafts by the Yellow River. Yelling...

“Everyone likes to come along the Yellow River in summer, but there are also some dangers lurking, and we need to be more vigilant and always beware.” Recently, Zhou Dalong, director of the Lanzhou Water Police Station, said in an interview with the media that the flood season is approaching, and it should happen. The Lanzhou Public Security Bureau's Public Security Management Detachment Water Police Station, which was born, started the "Non-Stop" mode, stepped up patrols in key areas and key areas, and escorted the people on the Yellow River Customs Line.

The institute is mainly responsible for the water security management of 46 kilometers of waters from the east of the Chaijiaxia Hydropower Station in the Xigu District of Lanzhou City to the west of the Sangyuanzi in the Chengguan District, including search and rescue tasks, the safety of ships visiting the Yellow River Customs Line, and the safety of large-scale water activities. At present, the institute has 9 policemen and 6 ships of various types.

Every year when the flood season enters, the police from the water police station increase the number of inspections and promptly remind the leisure people on both sides of the Yellow River of the "dangerous actions".

Zhou Dalong has been working in the institute for 13 years.

He recalled, “When he first came to work, the surrounding area of the Yellow River was bare, with no trails or recreational facilities. With the Yellow River’s customs line being built year by year, every summer, the number of foreign tourists and local residents around the Yellow River increased. The more crowded, we have also increased the frequency of inspections of river banks and river surfaces."

Especially in the flood season, when the rainfall in Lanzhou increased, and the water level of the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River rose, the water police station entered an emergency alert state ahead of time, and water patrols and emergency guards were strengthened.

The staff of the institute are patrolling flood prevention all-weather along the banks of the Yellow River, carrying out key water surface inspections, and making preparations for emergency incidents and rescue missions during the flood season.

Rescuing those who fell into the water is another important task of the water police station.

“It’s not easy to swim in the water to save people. The rescue time is only 4 minutes for the drowning person whose mouth and nose are completely immersed in the river.” Zhao Zheng, the third-level police chief of the water police station, is a winter swimming enthusiast. He has obtained the qualification certificate of intermediate swimming lifeguard. At present, he is the only policeman who can save lives in the four seasons.

Zhao Zheng, who has been working in the police station on the water for ten years, used to drive a speedboat at night during the flood season to find people who fell into the water by using city lights, received calls for help from uncertain locations, and encountered excessive water speed. The speedboat had no power. Dangerous situation drifting with the flow...

"Silt entraps people who fall into the water, and people who are very light will feel very heavy when they are rescued." Zhao Zheng said that people can only be rescued when their safety is guaranteed. The terrain of the Yellow River is complex, and the consequences of blind rescue are disastrous.

Zhao Zheng told reporters that the difficulty of rescue is different in each season. In the flood season in summer, the water level is high and the flow rate is rapid; in winter, the water level is low, the temperature is low, and there may be icing sometimes. If you don’t understand the terrain, rescue will be difficult. Make it harder.

"The people's awareness of safety precautions and standard rescue awareness has been increasing year by year." Zhou Dalong said, as long as the operators around the Yellow River see people falling into the water or committing suicide, they will report to the police as soon as possible, evacuate onlookers, and launch rescue operations for the police as soon as possible. Create conditions.

At present, Lanzhou winter swimming enthusiasts, tea stall owners and other non-governmental rescue forces have also actively joined the "Yellow River Rescue" team. In places with heavy traffic, the Yellow River Mother Wharf, Zhongshan Bridge Baitashan Wharf, and Lanzhou Concert Hall have been formed. The three rescue forces at the core of the Sports Park Wharf have formed a tacit understanding. When the police force cannot arrive in time, the principle of'rescuing people nearby' shall be adopted." Zhou Dalong said.

"When I saw the policeman by the Yellow River, I felt more at ease." Wang Yanqin, a Lanzhou resident drinking tea by the Yellow River, told reporters that Lanzhou people's must-have option in summer is to meet three or five friends to enjoy the coolness by the Yellow River. Sitting at a tea stall, I saw yachts with police lights patrolling back and forth, and from time to time they urged people in danger on the shore, feeling a special sense of security.

Since last year, the Lanzhou Floating Police Station has received a total of 278 rescue alarms and rescued 148 people who fell into the water and were besieged by the water.
