The Louvre Abu Dhabi Children's Museum will reopen its doors tomorrow, Friday, to welcome visitors in its new form with the exhibition “My Feelings!
A new adventure in the world of art”, an interactive exhibition for children that allows them to identify and explore their feelings through artworks and interactive experiences.
Combining entertainment and education, the exhibition encourages children between the ages of four and 10 and their parents to learn about different emotions, such as joy, sadness, fear and anger, through interactive experiences and games.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, said: “We are proud to reopen the Louvre Abu Dhabi Children's Museum with a safe, interactive and entertaining exhibition.
The arts have the power to unleash a child’s creative potential and enhance their emotional health.”
For his part, Director of Louvre Abu Dhabi, Manuel Rabaté, said: “We are delighted to reopen the Children's Museum to welcome children and their families in an exhibition that highlights emotions.
The Children's Museum embodies the core objectives of Louvre Abu Dhabi, which are based on enhancing the participation of future generations in the arts.
So we hope the whole family will enjoy this safe and inexpensive learning and playing experience, especially in the hot summer months.”
It is noteworthy that the Children's Museum presents ongoing exhibitions, and is an extension of the educational programs offered by the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Since its opening in 2017, the museum has presented visitors with three distinguished exhibitions: The Journey of Shapes and Colors (2017-2018), Animals, Between Reality and Imagination (2018-2019) and The Adventure of Fashion (2019-2020).
The exhibition is accompanied by a cultural program held in the museum.
It includes a screening of a series of family films, and visitors who enjoy kayak tours will be able to watch the movie “In Love with Poetry” on the wall of the Children's Museum while in a kayak, throughout the days of the movie shows.
The new Children’s Museum includes a workshop area that hosts virtual lessons for self-learning presented by three artists from the UAE: Shaima Al Amir, Ali Kashwani and Maryam Al Atouli. These workshops revolve around how to embody feelings through various artistic activities, such as drawing, collage and two-dimensional sculpture .
