Staple food kitchens, convenience stores, vegetable shops, book bars...Beijing will organically renew the old communities and transform them into modern and convenient spaces.
At the beginning of 2021, Beijing has clarified the city's new confirmation of 400 communities covering 15 million square meters; the construction of 300 communities covering 11 million square meters; and the completion of 100 communities covering 4 million square meters.
Among them, the 2021 renovation plan of Daxing District is 2.62 million square meters, 55 communities, involving 10 towns and streets, and the reconstruction volume ranks first in the city.
In Zaoyuan Community, Qingyuan Street, Daxing District, newly built staple food kitchens, stationery shops/study rooms, and community convenience stores have all begun to provide convenience services. The community has also introduced kitchen waste disposal equipment.
In addition, the improvement of landscape greening in the community's public areas, optimization of road security, creation of recreational facilities, and newly added convenience facilities have all been completed and will be officially put into use in September 2020.
Sanhe Nanli Community has turned the idle boiler house and coal storage yard in the outer block into a comprehensive convenient service place integrating convenient services and cultural and sports activities, realizing convenient vegetable shops, community retail, community canteens, and convenience stores. The organic combination of life service functions such as, book reading, sports, etc., and radiate multiple surrounding communities to achieve a 15-minute convenient living circle.
