In this mythical ballet, a prince falls in love with a swan woman, bewitched by a sorcerer.
It was by rediscovering Tchaikovsky's music that Angelin Preljocaj wanted to tackle this ballet monument.

This music is really incredibly rich.
We just have to try to remove the kinds of clichés we have about her.
You can see footsteps, there is also a bit of a "fireman" side, but, at the same time, there is so much dazzling ...

Tchaikovsky and electronic music
In this version, the wizard covets an oil field on the edge of Swan Lake.

Nowadays, we are really in climatic problems such ... There are lots of lakes which are drying up.
Then the swans are birds.
We might even wonder if our children or our children's children will one day know what a swan is.

Tchaikovsky's repertoire is largely in the spotlight, but Angelin Preljocaj is shaking it up with other styles.

In the show, Tchaikovsky's music is nature, the forest, the lake, the birds.
And then, electronic music obviously corresponds to the industrial world, to finance.

A mix of genres ... which retains the emotion of tragedy, but also makes you want to dance.
