The single elephant was out of the group for 11 days. It was located in the east of the elephant group, with a straight-line distance of 19.7 kilometers from the elephant group. It continued to move in Shuanghe Township, Jinning District, Kunming City. All 15 elephants were within the monitoring range and the elephants were safe.

  The elephant herd has frequent activities, and it is difficult for traffic diversion, safety precautions, and monitoring and control.

The provincial command center specializes in the compensation of Asian elephants moving north; organizes experts to carry out on-site inspections of the migration routes of the elephants and elephant groups, study and judge the routes, and scientifically research and propose the migration assistance plan.

The on-site headquarters required Eshan County to pay close attention to the movements of the elephant herd and activate emergency plans in advance to ensure the smooth passage of the elephant herd’s migration and ensure the safety of the villagers and elephants along the way.

  According to statistics, the field headquarters of Yimen County and Jinning District invested a total of 98 emergency response personnel and police on the same day, dispatched 226 muck trucks, 13 excavators and other engineering vehicles, 64 emergency vehicles, and 16 drones. Evacuate 547 households with 2061 people and fed 1.2 tons of elephant food.
