A young man wakes up from a coma to find himself like a "newborn baby"

A young American man woke up from his coma, which lasted 6 months, to find himself like a "newborn child", with no memory of his past life, and unable to speak, walk or write.

According to the British newspaper "Metro", Wesley Prosser, 26, developed cold-like symptoms in 2017, and initially thought he would recover within a few days, but things worsened and his condition deteriorated until he fell into severe delirium and his friends took him to the hospital.

After his examination, doctors said at the time that Prosser had autoimmune encephalitis, a fatal condition that causes swelling in the brain.

The young American fell into a coma shortly after arriving at the hospital, and after six months, Prosser woke up to find himself forgetting everything, including walking, speaking, writing, as well as the details of his previous life.

"It was very scary at the time and I was terrified," Prosser said.

I felt like my world was ending and I didn't feel like there was any hope.”

"I woke up like a newborn," he said.

I was forgetting everything, everyone.

Moreover, my teeth were severely damaged by not brushing them during the coma.”

Prosser had to take a four-year layoff until doctors were able to teach him how to walk, talk, write and eat.
