The government wants to make it possible for a much larger audience from 1 July than previously stated.

- It will make a big difference for many, especially the big events, says Minister of Culture and Sports Amanda Lind (MP) to TT.

The government's plan to gradually lift the restrictions already includes raising the audience ceiling for football matches, concerts and other public gatherings and public events from 1 July.

For example, 3,000 people will be allowed in the audience at outdoor events with seating.

Thanks per section

But now the government goes one step further and wants to enable even more audiences.

In a proposal that is now being sent for consultation, it is proposed that the maximum ceiling should apply per section - not in total.

- This probably applies to the largest events, and it does not matter which events it is.

It is the surface and the possibility of distance that is crucial.

It must not be congested, says Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren (S).

Does not suggest vaccine proof

The Swedish Public Health Agency has provided information to the government and the assignment also included investigating whether testing or vaccination certificates could be used to carry out major events.

But the authority does not believe in it at the moment.

-We currently do not provide vaccination certificates, but we think that sectioning is an easier feasible alternative.

The testing also risks taking resources - both equipment and care staff - that may be needed for care, says Lena Hallengren.

But the government does not close the door completely for vaccination evidence and may return to the issue.

Other news in the government's proposal is that up to 1,800 people will be allowed in outdoor demonstrations from 1 July.
