“Over the past day, 13.06.2021, 75 forest fires have been liquidated in Russia on an area of 900 hectares,” RIA Novosti is quoted as saying.
It is noted that by midnight on June 14, 71 forest fires were operating on the territory of Russia on an area of 53,438 hectares.
In April 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the possibility of tougher punishment against those who set fires to hide illegal logging.
