The sun will reign supreme over the country on Monday, temperatures will remain high, and the weather will even turn to a storm in the Pyrenees, according to Météo-France forecasts.

At the start of the day, we will observe some coastal mists, or even some low clouds, on the Côte d'Azur, but these small annoyances will quickly disappear.

Heat and thunderstorms in the Pyrenees

During this hot day, a stormy degradation will set in place over the Pyrenees, causing showers mainly in the afternoon, with in places strong thunderstorms and gusts of wind at 60/80 km / h.

Hail will be possible, particularly on the Ariège.

This unstable weather could overflow, in the afternoon, on the Pyrenean foothills, but also in the Landes plain, even as far as the Gers, with in places some showers which can be accompanied by thunderclaps.

In the south of the Auvergne massif and in the Southern Alps, cumulus clouds will bud and trigger a few rare precipitations which can go as far as downpours, even very locally up to storms.

Up to 37 degrees Monday

The minimum will be around 10 to 15 degrees in the north, up to 16/17 in Brittany and Pays de la Loire.

In the south, the start of the day will be very mild with 16 to 20 degrees, up to 21 in the lower Rhône valley.

The maximums will progress to the north, so the heat will settle over the whole of France.

On the northern half, we will record, along the Channel coast, pleasant temperatures of 23 to 27. Near the Benelux, it will be between 28 and 30, and 28 to 33 elsewhere.

In the south, it will be necessary to go to the beaches of the Atlantic to find more acceptable temperatures around 25 to 28 degrees.

From southwest to southeast, the thermometer will display 33 to 35 degrees, for 31 to 33 near the Pyrenees.

The heat will even be stifling, from Languedoc-Roussillon to the lower Rhône valley, with locally 36/37 degrees.
