On the 13th, a tour to trace the history of the town was held in Ajigasawa Town, Aomori Prefecture, which has been certified as a "Japan Heritage" by the Agency for Cultural Affairs as a port of call for the "Kitamaebune" that supported the former logistics.

This tour was planned by Ajigasawa Town to let you experience the history and culture of the town that prospered as a port of call for the Kitamaebune, and a total of 15 people from inside and outside the town participated.

On the 13th of the first tour, the theme was "Around the origins of the port town", and we walked with the curator of the town as a guide and went around places related to the Kitamaebune.

Of these, at "Mt. Tendo" in the center of the town, it was explained that the sea was reclaimed with earth and sand that was cut down on the slope of the mountain on a large scale, and a harbor was built.

In addition, at the shrine "Shirohachimangu" in the town, there are still votive tablets called "Votive picture horses" dedicated to the safety of the voyage and fences made of granite carried by the Kitamaebune. The people who participated were thinking about the history of the port town.

A woman in her 60s who participated from the town said, "I learned a lot from the explanation of the town's origins. I'm glad I could feel the history of Ajigasawa."

This historical tour is scheduled to take place once a month from next month to September.
