China News Service, Shijiazhuang, June 13 (Reporter Li Qian) According to the official measurement of China Earthquake Networks, a magnitude 3.2 earthquake occurred in Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province (41.16 degrees north latitude, 114.40 degrees east longitude) at 22:49 on the 12th. The focal depth is 12 kilometers.
Chen Yuemei, a resident who lives in Zhangbei County, said that when the earthquake occurred, she clearly felt the bed was shaking, "at first thought she was dizzy, and later found out that it was an earthquake."
According to the official Weibo of the Hebei Earthquake Administration, the epicenter was 56 kilometers away from the urban area of Zhangjiakou City and 347 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang City.
According to the preliminary understanding by the Zhangjiakou Earthquake Monitoring Center Station of Hebei Provincial Earthquake Administration and Zhangjiakou Seismological Bureau, there was a slight tremor in Zhangjiakou urban area and Zhangbei County, and the people’s living order was stable. There were no reports of casualties and property losses.
It is reported that a total of 12 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above occurred within 200 kilometers of the epicenter in the past 5 years. The largest earthquake was the 4.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Shangyi County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province on June 23, 2016 (28 kilometers from the epicenter) .
After the earthquake, the Hebei Seismological Bureau responded quickly and contacted the local authorities in Zhangjiakou to collect the disaster situation and dispatched an earthquake site investigation team to the epicenter.
The Hebei Earthquake Administration strictly implements a 24-hour shift on duty, and immediately organized experts to conduct joint consultations with the China Earthquake Network Center, the Beijing Seismological Bureau, and the Tianjin Seismological Bureau to analyze and judge the earthquake situation.
