Murder arrested after 28 years
On March 20, 1992, the fourth-year girl Lin of Nanjing Medical College (now Nanjing Medical University) "disappeared" and was found cruelly murdered a few days later.
28 years later, in the early morning of February 23, 2020, Ma Jigang was arrested by the police and truthfully confessed the criminal facts of his rape and murder of Kobayashi 28 years ago.

His father is a soldier and his mother is a female textile worker in a local yarn factory. It should be said that the family conditions are still good.
However, his parents were unable to take care of Ma Jigang due to work reasons. He was sent to his mother's goddaughter's house before weaning. The foster care lasted for 6 years. Later, he came to Qingjiang, Huai'an where his father works with his grandmother, and his family reunited.
At this time, Ma Jigang knew that he still had a 4-year-old brother.
Two years later, his father was transferred to Nanjing, and the family moved to Nanjing.
"Maybe because of the lack of the company of his parents, Ma Jigang has been wild since he was a child." Ms. Xu Liqing told reporters that that year, Ma Jigang and her younger brother enrolled in Nanjing Jiefang Road Primary School together, in the same grade and the same class.
But the class could not contain Ma Jigang's stubborn heart.
He didn’t understand what the teacher was saying, he couldn’t do his homework. He was absent from class for three days, and even didn’t go home for several days and nights. He called friends and accompany him, went down the river to fish for fish and shrimp, went up the mountain to catch crickets; he played with match guns and slingshot... …The teacher informs the parents of discipline.
"It should be said that Ma Jigang's father is a very upright person. After Ma Jigang was brought back to justice, this old man believed that he deserved the crime." Xu Liqing said that Ma's father hates iron for not making steel. He usually educates his son with sticks. A few slaps are common.
Introduced to people who have known Ma Jigang since he was a child, Ma Jigang has been courageous since he was a child, daring to speak out, attacking with sticks whenever he disagrees, and soon gathered a group of wild children.

Ma Jigang, at a young age, had long been trying to spend money with his companions.
They stole a pile of copper and aluminum blocks from a warehouse, found an abandoned shed, set up a stove, and sold them after melting.
The first time he succeeded, Ma Jigang was assigned three meat buns; in winter, he went to other people's homes to cook, and the house burned...He became a frequent visitor to the police station.
In April 1982, within a few months, Ma Jigang, who was 16 years old, molested a 12-year-old girl in a cave in Jiuhua Mountain, Nanjing, and then took him to a construction site next to the pontoon for the night. It was found by the patrol and sent to the police station.
This case was recorded in the Judgment No. 82 No. 183 of the Xuanwu District Court of Nanjing City. Ma Jigang was not sentenced because he was underage and the circumstances were minor.
In June 1983, Ma Jigang and his friends went to the Nanjing Xuanwu Hospital to get a test report. When passing by Yang Jiangjun Alley, he met a group of people taking pictures. Together, they cooperated with each other and stole a backpack. .
The next day, Ma Jigang and his gang were arrested by the police.
It was verified that the wide-angle lens in the stolen bag was worth 1,000 yuan, and a flash was worth 1,200 yuan. This was a big case at the time.
Coincidentally, this time it was tried by the Xuanwu District Court.
In the end, Ma Jigang was sentenced to 4 years in prison for theft.
"Father Ma has always been ashamed of his son being arrested. Over the past 4 years, he has always used his son's hometown as an excuse to deal with inquiries from neighbors and friends." Ms. Xu Liqing said that after Ma Jigang returned home, Father Ma served him Two things were arranged to try to restrain Ma Jigang.
First, find a friend to arrange for him to be an apprentice in Nanjing Yuhe Auto Repair Factory; second, find an old family member to help Ma Jigang find a wife.
After joining the factory as an apprentice for two years, on the sixth day of the first month of 1990, Ma Jigang married Gao, a girl from Pei County in his hometown.
Later, because of his father, Ma Jigang went to work in a company affiliated with a large foreign trade group.
After Ma's father retired in 1998, Ma Jigang became a full-time worker.

Ms. Xu Liqing has rushed to the place where Ma Jigang once lived many times, trying to restore Ma Jigang's life experience with multiple personalities.
She believes that the ineffective control before the crime and the self-indulgence at the time paved the way for him to commit the murder later.
After Ma Jigang was arrested last year, the Ziniu News reporter interviewed many colleagues and neighbors who knew him well, and they were surprised.
Because in their eyes, Ma Jigang is kind, never competitive and willing to help others.
"In fact, Ma Jigang has lived in trepidation for so many years after the mass murder in Nanjing Medical University. He claimed that he was most afraid of death and had regrets. He would burn incense in temples and pray in churches when he was on business trips or when he had free time, and prayed for blessings. The sky does not hide the traitor, the French net is intact, and the net is intact. Ms. Xu Liqing told the Ziniu News reporter that Ma Jigang is very flexible in mind and is an extremely intelligent person, but it is a pity that he is clever in the wrong place.
Shigu Road, where Ma Jigang lives, is about 800 meters away from the crime scene. On the night of the crime, he drank some wine. After meeting Lin, he tried to stop him from chatting.
After the incident, he was once listed as a suspect. Once, the police at the police station called him to the police station for investigation under the pretext of asking him to repair the car.
After some cross-examination, Ma Jigang, who has a good psychological quality, showed no flaws.
He was well-known to the outside world because of his strict discipline by his father, even the police at the police station knew this, and his suspicion was eventually ignored.
"We have only been married for two years and have no children. After committing crimes, he often wakes up in the middle of the night and sits up, and his wife looks at him in amazement. When he meets a policeman on the road, he will walk around and sweat on his back." Ms. Xu Liqing Said that around 1998, the Ma family's house on Shigu Road was demolished and their family was relocated to a community in Jiuhuashan.
After staying away from Nanjing Medical University, he thought that the limelight had passed and his little days were very moist, but a big rock in his heart kept pressing.
Because of fear of being caught, Ma Jigang has never dared to have children.
Until 2000, under the urging of their parents, they ushered in the birth of their daughter.

From 2002 to 2005, Ma Jigang, who was sent to Germany, worked as a driver, chef, and tour guide, and performed well.
After returning to China, Ma Jigang brought back two purebred sheepdogs from Germany, and made a lot of profits by breeding or selling small sheepdogs.
Ma Jigang said that after committing the crime, he began to think about repentance, he had to follow his father's teachings, and do more good deeds.
Is it to hide yourself deeper, or is it really for salvation?

On the night of February 22 of this year, Ma Jigang, who never went for a walk, took his wife to Xuanwu Lake for a rare walk. On the way, he told his wife that she had worked hard for her all these years.
He also rarely talked to his daughter who was in college.
He warned his daughter that in the future, he should not look for someone like his father who can only talk about it.
At the end, he asked his daughter a question. After wiping the saliva with oral test paper, can he get the blood type?
The daughter replied, yes.
Ma Jigang fell into silence. He had a test strip test by the staff the day before.
Because, that night, he received a call from his home cousin.
