[Explanation] On June 12th, the annual opening ceremony of the ancient dragon kiln of Nixing pottery in Qinzhou, Guangxi was held. More than 8,000 pieces of Nixing pottery were fired at high temperature, which attracted people's attention.

  [Explanation] The day is China’s 16th Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. Qinzhou, Guangxi held the opening ceremony of the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Shopping Festival" and the opening of the 6th Millennium Ni Xing Tao Gulong Kiln.

It is understood that since 2016, in conjunction with the cultural and natural heritage day activities, Qinzhou City has held traditional Gulong kiln fire sacrifice ceremonies and kiln opening activities every year. This year, there are 8,670 pieces of Nixing pottery works fired in the Gulong kiln.

  [Explanation] Qinzhou Nixing Pottery Gulong Kiln is about 80 meters long. It was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. It is the longest Gulong Kiln among the cultural relics protection units announced by China.

At the event site, every piece of Nixing pottery that was just out of the kiln was different, with different colors, and the firewood fire and falling ash left a distinctive mark on them.

  【Explanation】Qinzhou Nixing pottery is one of the four famous pottery in China. Its firing technique has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. The kiln changes produced during the high-temperature firing process of Nixing pottery are different from A major feature of other pottery categories is "one color when entering the kiln, and a variety of colors out of the kiln." One said.

  [Explanation] Zheng Juan, member of the Standing Committee of the Qinzhou Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, said that the purpose of this event is to fully display the achievements of Qinzhou’s intangible cultural heritage protection and inheritance.
