• The municipality of Amiens has launched an operation to bring vaccination to the neighborhoods.

  • For this, the bus of the local football club, Amiens SC, will serve as a mobile vaccinodrome.

  • He will travel through three districts of the city until July 6 to vaccinate without an appointment.

After completing their season in Ligue 2, finishing in 10th place in the championship, the players of Amiens SC are on vacation.

While waiting for the resumption, the bus which is used to transport the team is useless.

In partnership with the ARS, the University Hospital of Amiens and the city, the football club has decided to make its bus available to serve as a mobile vaccinodrome against the coronavirus epidemic.

Certainly, in Amiens as in all the cities of France, vaccination centers have been set up.

However, this does not necessarily make it possible to reach the entire population.

The municipality has thus set up a vaccination strategy which consists of "reaching out to all audiences".

This results in the launch of an operation to bring vaccination to the heart of the neighborhoods.

At the foot of homes and without appointment

And one of the vehicles used for this is none other than the bus in the colors of the football club, Amiens SC.

In addition to the bus, Transdev Cav, owner of the bus, also provides a driver to carry out the tour which began this Friday and is due to end on July 6.

The other advantage of the operation is that access to vaccination against Covid-19 will be without appointment for all people over 18 years old.

The organizers hope to perform 300 first daily injections, or more than 6,200 in all.

The Amiens SC bus will park at the foot of the homes of Amiens Nord and Etouvie and to the south of the city, in the Rollin and Condorcet districts.

It will then be enough for the volunteers to present themselves with their Vitale card to be vaccinated.

The second injection will be by appointment, which will be taken on the day of the first injection.
