In accordance with the principles of high morbidity, clear diagnosis and treatment effects, and heavy economic burden, 10 disease types were selected as the first batch of disease types for treatment and management in July 2019.

  At the same time, an expert committee for children’s hematopathy and malignant tumors was established to improve the diagnosis and treatment technical plans for related diseases. At the same time, a medical record information registration management system was established to guide the locals to determine designated hospitals and set up a diagnosis and treatment cooperation group to achieve standardized management and treatment of patients throughout the process Diagnosis and treatment.

This year, based on the previous work experience in 10 diseases, we expanded the scope of treatment of childhood hematological diseases and malignant tumors, and included 12 diseases including glioma and (malignant) germ cell tumors. The scope of treatment and management has now reached 22 in total.

  On the one hand, it is necessary to increase medical protection and strengthen the effective connection of basic medical insurance, critical illness insurance, and medical assistance.

At the same time, advance the reform of payment methods, encourage the implementation of single disease payment, simplify referral procedures, optimize the reimbursement settlement process, improve the dynamic adjustment of the medical insurance catalog, and expand the scope of medicines and diagnosis and treatment items covered by basic medical insurance to greatly increase the level of protection.

On the other hand, strengthen the supply of medicines.

All localities organize relevant medical institutions to monitor the supply of drugs, implement the pilot work requirements for centralized drug procurement, promote mass procurement, link volume and price, and ensure supply to reduce medical costs.

According to reports, as of the end of 2020, 115,000 children with hematological diseases and malignant tumors in children have been included in the monitoring and management system, and remarkable results have been achieved in the treatment and guarantee work.

  The data shows that the centralized treatment of children's serious diseases has reduced the total medical expenses, reduced cross-provincial medical treatment, increased the reimbursement ratio of medical insurance, and effectively reduced personal out-of-pocket expenses, and the medical expenses of children's serious diseases that caused catastrophic expenditures for families were also obvious. decline.

The average total hospitalization cost of children with hematological diseases and malignant tumors has dropped by 5.69% compared with before the implementation of these policies in 2019, of which out-of-pocket expenses have dropped by 10.89%.
