Jean-Baptiste Andrea won the 44th edition of the Relay Prize for traveling readers, of which Europe 1 is a partner, for his book

Des diables et des saints

, published by L'Iconoclaste. The jury chaired by Erik Orsenna, author and member of the French Academy, and in which also appeared Nicolas Carreau, the literature specialist of Europe 1, chose this moving novel among the four finalists:

Le train des enfants

by Viola Ardone (Albin Michel),

The Glass Hotel

, by Emily St. John Mandel (Black

Shore)

and

As long as there is still islands

by Martin Dumont (Les Avrils).

Jean-Baptiste Andra's novel is about the story of orphans and love.

That of an old man who divinely plays Beethoven on public pianos.

He calls himself Joe, for Joseph.

We meet him one day in a train station, another in an airport.

He wastes his talent as a concert performer in the midst of indifferent travelers.

He is waiting.

But who, and why?

The Relay Travelers Prize is awarded each year, with a new jury, made up of travel professionals, journalists and writers.
