"There is a lot of modesty when you talk about your past"

For the former robbers who have turned the page, you had to trust the director to tell their story and do it knowing that they would then be recognized.

For the director, who admits having first been "a little afraid", it was necessary to ensure that she could work correctly, and that the witnesses would be sincere.

This is what happened, in particular thanks to the confidence that Delphine Cinier was able to inspire.

"First of all, it was not easy, because there is a lot of modesty when you talk about your past or the acts you have committed", confides Khaled Miloudi.

"But Delphine managed to build a relationship of trust with us, and speaking was easier."

A "pact" between director and former robbers

"I wanted to testify because I agree with the idea of the film's departure, which is that you should not lock someone up in their past. I said to myself 'now is the time or never'", continues- he. "I also wanted to testify in a spirit of transmission, for young and old, and also for those who are still in it and who also hope for a helping hand like me, I had."

And this mutual trust was also born of a pact between the former robbers and the director. "The pact was sincerity and loyalty. And the fact of not judging them," says the director. "I wanted to be in the staff, rather than being in the facts of the robberies. I decided to privilege their course, to be in the introspection." The documentary

Braqueurs

is broadcast Sunday evening at 10:30 p.m. on M6.
