Béatrice Uria-Monzon, former mezzo-soprano turned soprano, presents her first solo disc "Assolouta" (Aparté), in which she pays tribute to these tragic heroines who inspired her.
Publicity
It was the role of Carmen, in Bizet's opera, that made
Béatrice Uria-Monzon
famous
on opera stages around the world.
A tailor-made character for this daughter of a Spanish painter, who has chosen the song rather than the brush to imprint emotions in the hearts of the public.
She also interpreted Béatrice and Didon by Berlioz;
Charlotte and Chimène by Massenet;
the Eboli of Don Carlos de Verdi.
She is now releasing a recital record, which also marks a vocal turning point, since the singer has changed tessitura, from mezzo-soprano to soprano, thus broadening the scale of her notes, at the same time as the role possibilities.
So here she is interpreting Tosca, Lady Macbeth, Gioconda or Norma.
“Assoluta”,
his 1st solo disc, available at Aparté.
