After the fatal act of violence in a dormitory in Potsdam for people with disabilities, the suspected caregiver demands a high severance payment after her dismissal.

The 52-year-old's lawyer said on Thursday at the quality hearing before the Potsdam Labor Court that he proposed to the Oberlinhaus diaconal facility that wages should be paid until the end of the year and a severance payment of 81,600 euros.

There, the lawyer had brought an action for protection against dismissal for his client, who had been arrested with four dead after the crime at the end of April and placed in a psychiatric hospital.

According to the judge, the nursing staff's Oberlinhaus had given notice at the beginning of May for personal and behavioral reasons and then issued a suspected dismissal.

The attorney for the Oberlinhaus stated that the demand for severance pay was unacceptable even with regard to the bereaved relatives of the dead.

From the point of view of the care facility, only immediate termination is possible.

"It is inconceivable that the plaintiff will return to her job and care for those in need."

The nurse's lawyer said that from his point of view, the Oberlinhaus was liable for damages. It allowed that in early and late shifts only two nurses had to look after up to 20 people with the most severe disabilities. The employer did not respond to the signs of overload in the 52-year-old, who had been employed in the house for 32 years.
