“She was raped.

And we support it ”.

In a message posted on Facebook on June 8, two members of Salut c'est cool lent their support to the victim of the rape committed by one of its members.

“Three months ago we learned that James was charged with rape.

He spoke about it on a personal account, ”write Martin Gugger and Louis Donnot.

They refer to a message posted by James Darle on Instagram last weekend, in which he provides his side of the story about this "sex [he] had with someone [he] considers [ her] friend almost three years ago ”.

“In January of this year, she contacted me to tell me that, contrary to my recollection, this report, which was for me agreed, had ceased to be for her at some point without my knowing it and with hindsight she felt that I had raped her, ”he continues.

Further on, he “asks forgiveness” from the victim and explains that he “became aware of his mistakes”.

A message condemned by Martin Gugger and Louis Donnot: "It seems indecent to us that only the voice of James can exist, especially since the content of his message is in no way approved by the victim".

"We don't yet know what hello it's cool will become"

In the rest of their post, the two members of the group give him their support. “We therefore want to carry her word which is clear: she was raped. And we support it. And we are wholeheartedly with her and the other victims of rape and sexual assault. We want to help her - without naming her - because we don't want her to suffer more violence, and also because she is a friend and she had the courage to confide in us and us. to trust ”, they explain, before sharing a few words transmitted by the victim.

At the end of their messages, the two members of the group specify that "James is no longer part of Hi, that's cool."

After such an incident, we no longer want to be associated with him ”.

They add that Martin has “decided to leave the group.

He considers that Salut c'est cool carried values such as freedom, respect and consent and that the group is no longer able to defend them.

"

“We don't yet know what Hi is cool will become,” they add, adding that they have canceled all concert dates this summer.
