A quiet place part II would have premiered in March 2020. The first weekend decides whether a film is considered financially successful or not and before the intended premiere, before the pandemic, the industry believed that the silent horror film would record 55 million dollars, equivalent to about 456 million.

When the film could now go up in American cinemas 14 months later, it ended up quite close to the pre-pandemic goal: 48 million dollars (389 million kronor) during the opening weekend, writes the industry magazine Variety.

It is more than any other film recorded in cinemas since the pandemic began and is seen as a sign of recovery for the cinema industry.

A quiet place part II is directed by The office actor John Krasinski, who also plays the male lead.
