According to Newinform, in recent years Volkova worked at the Rimsky-Korsakov Music School.
“It is with great sadness that we are forced to report that on Sunday evening, the vocal department teacher, People's Artist of Russia Rimma Stepanovna Volkova, died in a terrible car accident,” the music school's VKontakte page says.
According to Life.ru, on the video filmed by eyewitnesses from the scene of the accident, it can be seen that a car collided head-on with a small truck, from which the front of the car was very crushed.
