A new controversy animates the 2021 edition of the international Eurovision Song Contest.

And it is again the Italian group Maneskin, winner of the competition, which is at the heart of the controversy, with a hint of plagiarism.

Her singer had previously been accused (wrongly) of taking cocaine live on television during the final.

New controversy for Eurovision and the winning group Maneskin.

Its singer Damiano David had been suspected of having consumed cocaine live on television during the final of the international singing competition.

Suspicions which had been removed thanks to a drug test which resulted in negative.

This time, it is no longer a question of drugs, but of an accusation of plagiarism.

The suspicion was raised by Joris Lissens, singer of the unknown Dutch rock band The Vendettas.

Two comparable guitar riffs

The singer finds that

Eurovision

winning song

Zitti e buoni

sounds a bit too much like one of theirs,

You Want It, You've Got It

.

The riffs that begin on the two titles do indeed seem close, but it is not certain that this is sufficient to conclude that the Italians are plagiarized.

The Vendetta singer has also recognized that the Italians of Maneskin were not born when their song was released.

It was in 1994. Plagiarism or not, this new controversy is a nice publicity stunt for this Dutch group, which very few people had heard of before this story.
