The single bamboo float is a unique folk skill in northern Guizhou originating in the Chishui River Basin, with a history of more than a thousand years.

Nowadays, "Chishui Single Bamboo Drift" has been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects and has become a sport and performance method.

The 24-year-old Yangliu is the non-genetic inheritor of the "Chishui Single Bamboo Drifting" in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province. Influenced by the family's elders, Yangliu started practicing Drifting Drifting at the age of 7 and has been practicing solo bamboo drifting for 17 years.

As the age continues to grow, the dance-based Yangliu began to innovate based on traditional solo bamboo drifting techniques, combining dance and solo bamboo drifting together. In order to improve the appreciation, she also incorporated elements such as opera into the performance and gained a great reputation. With praise and recognition from both inside and outside the audience, Yangliu has also become a well-known local aquatic performer.

Nowadays, Yang Liu is still thinking and innovating. She hopes that more young people will understand and love the technique of solo bamboo floatation.
