Shizuoka Prefecture and others have announced that 50 new people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
A total of 8601 people have been confirmed to be infected in Shizuoka Prefecture.
Shizuoka City also announced that one male elderly inpatient was confirmed dead.
This brings the total number of people who died in Shizuoka Prefecture to 139.
* Initially, Shizuoka Prefecture announced that 51 people had been confirmed to be infected, but one of them was corrected to 50 because it overlapped with the announcement by Hamamatsu City.
