A Chinese young man managed to save a baby who fell from his mother between a subway carriage and the station platform, in Wuhan, in central China's Hubei Province, according to CCTV.

Video footage from the metro station surveillance cameras showed the baby falling from his mother's hand while she was trying to board the train, as she was unable to catch him with the help of other passengers due to the overcrowding at the train station.

For its part, the Chinese newspaper, "South China Morning Post", said that a policewoman at a subway station told officials that the train must stop so that they can save the child.

The train stopped and the passengers gathered next to the carriage, in which the infant fell, and then the young man descended into this guest space to pick up the child.

After completing the operation to save the infant, the young Chinese explained that he did so because he knew the meaning of humanity, as the child fell under the train and the mother and the rest of the passengers failed to save him.
