If you were sad after the last episode of The

X-Files

, when you realized that the adventures of Mulder and Sculler were over, know that your despair was nothing compared to that of its lead actress.

During a roundtable organized by the

Hollywood Reporter

, Gillian Anderson made a few confessions about what happened in her head and in her life, when she had to live without her character.

“I had a few mini-depressions during this period, and in the end, I couldn't talk about it, I couldn't watch the series, I couldn't see the photos, I couldn't (…) I needed to immediately immerse myself in the theater in another country.

And then after a while I was able to kiss her again, but when I started kissing her it was almost like I had separated so much that I was looking at the picture like if it was another person.

When you immerse yourself as completely as we do (for some series), and we do it for such long periods of time, there can't be no consequences, ”she explained.

For Gillian Anderson, some roles stick more to the skin than others. But Dana Scully isn't the only heroine to have affected her so much. In the interview, in which her sisters Cynthia Erivo, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sarah Paulson and MJ Rodriguez participated, the actress mentioned that of Blanche in

A Tramway Named Desire

.

“I felt like I had lost my best friend.

I was in mourning.

Friends from New York had organized a brunch for me the weekend after the play ended, and I arrived like a wreck.

It was so deep.

I also knew I was unlikely to do it again because I knew I would probably have lost my mind.

I was really close to it.

I had barely survived, and if I did it again out of ego, attachment, or not to let her go, there would be consequences.

I knew it was the end, and it was so sad… ”she added.

The X-Files
