The other day, TT reported that visitors were absent from the Danish museums, a month after they could receive visitors again.

Most only received just over half as many as there was capacity for.

This is thought to be due to several reasons.

Among other things, demands for corona passes, which limit the number of spontaneous visits, missed tourism and that fewer people visit museums in groups.

Today, Danish Politiken reports on another setback for the museums.

The support package presented for the summer will not cover part of the ticket costs for visitors.

“No one knows what this summer's visit will look like.

The forecast right now is not good for either the summer or the autumn ", writes the Organization of Danish Museums in a press release.

Three suggestions for changes

During the summer of 2020, the Danish government went in with money so that the museums could reduce their ticket costs.

Something that made the museums get full houses almost all season.

But in this year's support package, the measure is removed.

The organization Danish Museums is now appealing for help from the government.

They suggest that as long as there are restrictions on who and how many are allowed to enter the museums, there must also be financial compensation.

ODM has also presented a list of three points on what the government should add to the support package.
