A quarantine test at the airport confirmed that 14 new people had been infected with the mutant virus that spreads in India.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the infection was confirmed in 14 men and women who arrived from India and Nepal by the 22nd of last month.



In both cases, infection with the new coronavirus was confirmed by quarantine inspection at the airport, and as a result of analyzing the gene of the sample at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, a mutant virus spreading in India was detected.

Nine of them were asymptomatic when they arrived in Japan, but five had symptoms such as fever and dyspnea.



This brings the total number of quarantine tests found to be infected with the Indian mutant virus to 192.



On the other hand, in Japan, 24 people were confirmed to be infected in the week until 31st of last month, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare is strengthening the nationwide inspection system.
