Pit Four


  Silk protein was found in the ashes. This was the first time that silk was found at the Sanxingdui site. In addition, the ashes of plants such as bamboo, artemisia and nanmu were also found.

Numerous cultural relics have been unearthed in the No. 4 "Sacrificial Pit". So far, 534 cultural relics have been extracted, including ivory, gold, jade, stone, bronze, pottery, boneware, textiles and lacquerware.

Bronze wares include turned heads and kneeling portraits, collar bi, qi-shaped square hole bi, Ge, etc., jade wares include Cong, chisel, and collar bi, etc., and gold wares have ribbon ornaments, leaf-shaped ornaments, and round foils.


Pit Five


  The cultural relics are mainly small pieces such as various fragments and bead decorations.

There are many round perforated gold pieces buried in the pit, suspected to be decorations attached to clothes.

So far, 146 cultural relics of various types have been extracted, including ivory and ivory, gold, jade, and bronze, among which golden masks and bird-shaped gold ornaments are the most important.

Some ivory is carved with string patterns, cloud and thunder patterns, feather wing patterns and other patterns. The patterns are very regular and fine, and the width of some patterns is less than 50 microns.


Pit Six


  A well-preserved "wooden box" was found, with cinnabar coated on the inside, which was the first discovery in Sanxingdui and was ready for extraction as a whole.

  The cultural relics that have been extracted include bronze, jade, gold leaf, stone tools, etc.

Most of the larger bronzes were consciously broken, mainly from the bronze sacred tree.

Small and medium-sized bronzes mainly include copper bells, copper shells, copper ge, and small kneeling bronze figures.

Jade articles mainly include Zhang, axe, chisel, pipe, and a large number of jade beads.

There is also a lot of gold leaf scattered in the ashes, some of which are identifiable as gold leaves.

In addition, incompletely burnt textile fragments were found on the surface of part of the copperware remnants.

At present, the accumulation of yellow sand under the ashes has been exposed, and a number of large ivory has begun to be exposed at the same time.
