The Higher Organizing Committee of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition has launched several art competitions in the fields of drawing and photography related to the theme of the exhibition, as part of its keenness to preserve the local heritage, introduce the sports of parents and grandparents, contribute to the history of wildlife and the desert environment, and shed light on the high status that enjoys It features falcons and horses in the UAE and the region, as well as highlighting the important role played by the art of painting and photography, to contribute to environmental awareness and document equestrian and falconry sports, which have a strong connection to the history and civilization of the Arabs.

The 18th edition of the exhibition will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region and president of the Emirates Falconers Club, from 27 September to 3 October at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, organized by the Emirates Falconers Club.

The exhibition is officially sponsored by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, the International Fund for Houbara Conservation, and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.

The candidacy for participation in the competitions continues until August 30th via the email competitions@adihex.com. Valuable material and moral prizes have been allocated to the winners who will be announced during the exhibition days, in addition to displaying their works in a special corner.

The “The Most Beautiful Paintings” and “The Most Beautiful Photographs” competitions are directed to painters and photographers from all over the world, and each of them includes three branches (falconry, equestrian, and heritage), so that the first three winners in each branch are honored, and each artist is allowed to participate. The Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the exhibition, Secretary-General of the Emirates Falconers Club, Majid Ali Al-Mansoori, stressed that the exhibition is not limited to being an international forum for producers of hunting tools and weapons, those interested in land and sea hunting trips, and those who are fond of falconers and equestrians. It brings together creators from different continents, especially by continuing to organize and develop these art competitions, as the “Arts and Handicrafts” sector in the exhibition constitutes a very important artistic platform to display the products of a selection of Emirati, Arab and foreign artists, and a real opportunity for them to communicate with lovers of arts related to cultural heritage and human civilization. .

It is noteworthy that the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition hosts many artistic participations as exhibitors, and they vary between painting, sculpture, photography, decoration, Arabic calligraphy and masterpieces of handicrafts.

Technical Terms

Each artist participates with no more than three artworks in all branches, and priority will be given to modern works that embody the theme of this year’s exhibition “Sustainability and Heritage… in a Renewed Spirit”.

Each participant in the drawing and photography competitions in the course (Abu Dhabi 2021), must send his CV, and a general idea of ​​the nominated works explaining the artist’s experience, with an introduction to each work and complete data, including (work name - size - material used - year production), with attached photos of the submitted works, and a personal photo of the artist.

Also, the participating works must be placed within a frame, whether paintings or photographs, so that they are ready for display, and non-ready works will be rejected.
