Indeed, the

Hollywood Reporter

 announced that the actor was in talks with Lionsgate to star in a reboot of the 1986 film which marked the peak of the career of our national Christophe Lambert.

Information confirmed by Henry Cavill himself.

The actor has indeed posted on Instagram the article revealing the ongoing negotiations.

And the talks seem sufficiently advanced for Henry Cavill to add in commentary that this was an "unparalleled opportunity" especially since he is "a Highlander fan since childhood".

"Going into a franchise with all the tools at our disposal, it will make this adventure something unforgettable for me (and all of you I hope)", he added.

The film will be directed by Chad Stahelski who has been working on the return of the Highlander since 2016. Rather reassuring news for the future of the film when we know that the director is in charge of the
