"A partial eclipse will be visible from the territory of Russia, moreover, from almost the entire territory of our country, with the exception of the Far East," RIA Novosti quotes the message of the astronomer, senior researcher at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Oleg Ugolnikov.
He noted that in Moscow, in the middle of the eclipse, the Moon will block 27% of the diameter of the Sun, which "will look like a bitten off apple."
The maximum eclipse will occur at 14:27 Moscow time.
“The residents of the northeast of Yakutia will be more fortunate, there it will be possible to observe a 94 percent eclipse of the Sun by the Moon,” the astronomer said.
It is noted that this will be the first annular eclipse to hit the territory of Russia in 50 years.
A rare astronomical phenomenon - a super-moon eclipse - occurred on May 26.
