Over the past 32 years, Sun Chunjin has created more than 50 modern plays, TV drum books and regional cultural works.
Sun Chunjin was born and grew up in the countryside. The pains and joys of peasant life and the folklore and historical stories passed down by villagers are the inspiration and material for his creation.
At the age of 25, Sun Chunjin came to the Changzi County People’s Theater from his hometown to work at the age of 25. He has also served as an actor, director, and music writer for many years while writing scripts.

In the early 1990s, due to various factors, the development of the troupe encountered a bottleneck. Most of the people engaged in theatrical creation with Sun Chunjin stopped writing and switched to another career, but he never had the idea of leaving the troupe.
"The predicament is only temporary." Sun Chunjin looked for innovation and breakthrough, breaking the original creative mode, and combining drama with the eldest son's drum book, copper musical instrument and other local characteristic culture.
Since 2007, the TV drum book, bronze instrument costume drama "One Hammer" and "Blue Blood Loyalty" and other works adapted by him have been performed successively.

Sun Chunjin has now become the inheritor of the opera business in Changzi County. In 2018, the large-scale historical drama "Feiguan Zhenggong" he participated in co-editing was widely acclaimed after its performance. The troupe performs more than 350 shows a year, of which more than 100 shows are sent to the countryside on a voluntary basis.
Writing plays for the common people is the principle Sun Chunjin adheres to. For more than 30 years of creation, some people have spent money to invite him to write some entertaining drum books, but Sun Chunjin rejected it.
He said that a responsible writer should spread truth, goodness and beauty to the common people.
"Excellent works should be appreciated both refined and popular." Sun Chunjin said frankly that it is difficult to pass on drama creation.
He believes that good screenwriters need a certain amount of talent and profound cultural heritage, and such talents are difficult to discover.
Sun Chunjin sent a message to young writers who devoted themselves to creation.
"Gold and silver cups are not as good as the common people's reputation. It is the common people to test whether a work is successful or not.
