• Is a negative PCR test now required to eat pizza?

  • This is the opinion of Internet users sharing the photo of the alleged strict health protocol applied in the French Pizza Hut brands welcoming their customers on site.

  • While these measures are genuine, they actually concern Luxembourg establishments in the fast food chain.

In France, the interior of restaurants will only be accessible from June 9, without the requirement of a negative PCR test.

A first example of the future liberticidal drifts of the health pass?

On social networks, many Internet users are offended by the conditions of access to Pizza Hut signs, visible on the photo of a restaurant terminal.

“From May 16, according to the government directive in force, if you want to eat inside the restaurant you will either have to present a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours, [or] present a certified negative rapid test from a pharmacy less than 24 hours old, or submit to a self-test to be carried out on site ”, can we read on this screen.

“Another crappy restaurant chain to boycott !!

"," Pizza Hut restaurants warn you that if these conditions are not met, you will not be able to eat inside their restaurants ... ", several Internet users are indignant ... except that this terminal has been photographed in a sign in Luxembourg .

FAKE OFF

The web address "pizzahut.lu" visible at the bottom of the terminal refers in fact to the Luxembourg site of the fast food chain.

Since May 16, the restaurants and bars of the Duchy can once again welcome their customers on the terrace as well as indoors.

But this second scenario is subject to strict conditions, detailed on the Luxembourg government website: “Indoor consumption […] is subject to presentation for each customer from the age of 6, ie d '' a gene amplification test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus (e.g. RT-PCR) carried out less than 72 hours before entering the establishment concerned, and the result of which must be negative, either a SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen test carried out less than 24 hours before entering the establishment concerned, and the negative result of which is certified by a health professional [..;] or a [self-diagnostic] test used for SARS-CoV-2 screening performed on site, and the result is negative. "

"In the event of the customer refusing to produce a negative COVID-19 test or in the event of a positive COVID-19 test, the customer must leave the establishment," he adds.

The Pizza Hut stores in Luxembourg therefore only apply national guidelines.

No PCR test required in French restaurants

In France, if the terraces reopened on May 19, the interior spaces of restaurants and other bars will not be accessible to the public again (with a 50% gauge) until June 9… day of deployment of the health pass.

But, as the government reminds us, this will not be applied to “the daily life of the French”, “supermarkets, workplaces, public services or even restaurants [not] being affected by this. pass.

»From June 9, customers of French restaurants will however have to scan a QR code at the entrance of the establishment with the StopCovid Signal application in order to facilitate tracing in the event of contamination.
