A ritual that often puts your nerves on edge: waiting endless minutes at the entrance to the Lyon car parks, on Saturday afternoons or at noon on weekdays when you have lunch in the city center.

And see signs flashing, displaying "full" in red.

Since March, the company LPA has developed an online reservation system precisely to avoid queues and disappointments.

A small revolution.

Until now, only the parking lot at Part-Dieu station has allowed a parking space to be reserved, but only for the weekend.

Today, the main car parks in the city center are connected.

The system will be gradually extended to the entire network until the fall.

Access via the subscriber queue

“When people come to see a show in the evening, they will no longer have to arrive early to find a seat.

The system will allow them to benefit from a fast-track.

They can go to the queue reserved for subscribers and can access the car park by presenting their phone to the terminal, ”explains Christine Giraudon, communications director at LPA.

The same goes for shopping enthusiasts, tourists passing through Lyon or employees working on the peninsula.

Reservations are made on the LPA application and everything goes through the smartphone.

“This system offers the guarantee of having a parking space available.

By avoiding going in circles, it will also reduce pollution, ”she concludes.
