Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, announced that women in their 90s were mistakenly vaccinated with the new coronavirus vaccine three times.
So far, there have been no major changes in women's physical condition.
According to Imabari City, a woman in her 90s who was admitted to a facility for the elderly in the city was vaccinated with the new corona for the first time on the 1st of this month.
After that, the woman became ill and was admitted to a medical institution related to a facility for the elderly, where she received her second vaccination on the 21st of this month, but three days later, on the 24th, the same medical institution. It means that the third inoculation was mistakenly done.
According to the city, there have been no major changes in women's physical condition so far.
The medical institution explained to the city that it had inadvertently inoculated a large amount because the confirmation of the medical examination slip and the interview with the person were not sufficient.
Imabari City wants to prevent recurrence by having medical institutions in the city thoroughly check the medical examination slips and interview the person in multiples.
