Proof of this is that the growing traffic had to be regulated: a hundred years ago to the day, the Highway Code was born in France, via a decree.
Speed, place on the road, priorities, overtaking ... The main lines of automobile traffic were drawn.
A text revised many times over the following decades, with the appearance of new dangers and the development of vehicles.
It is estimated today that 40 million French people have their license, and therefore as many potential motorists.
But not all are such model drivers.
