The code-connecting platform "serving" the Internet black and gray industry was "blacked out" by the law

For only RMB 0.1, you can surf the Internet wearing a "mask". Such a low threshold and high convenience experience has really attracted many users.

However, walking on the fringe of the black and gray industry will sooner or later "stumble."

When handling a case involving game players falling into a fraudulent trap for buying and selling game equipment, the Zhejiang police brought out an EasyCode platform that involved online black and gray production. It is understood that the platform has more than 18.8 million mobile phone numbers and 48,850 verification code items for docking. .

Recently, a public prosecution was filed by the Luqiao District Procuratorate in Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. The court sentenced Zhang and other five defendants to imprisonment ranging from one year to eight months to seven months for the crime of helping information cybercrime activities, with a suspended sentence of three to one year. Each month varies from 200,000 yuan to 10,000 yuan in fines.

Game players were tricked into selling accounts, leading to a big case

Xiao Wang from Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province is a "game fan."

Two years ago, Xiao Wang sold game accounts online, and soon after the information was posted, buyers came to the door.

The buyer asked Xiao Wang to send a screenshot of his game account. Subsequently, Xiao Wang received a screenshot of the buyer's successful transfer on a certain platform, and asked Xiao Wang to confirm the shipment through his email.

After a while, Xiao Wang received an email-"Notice! The virtual game product you put on the platform has already been photographed by buyers, please open the link as soon as possible to cooperate with the virtual product delivery customer service for delivery." At the same time , At the bottom of the email, there is a link.

After clicking open, a chat window pops up and a message sent by the customer service is displayed: "Dear, the buyer has placed an order, the system has successfully checked the account, and reply JY will handle the shipment for you." After Xiao Wang responded, the customer service Said that he needed to pay a deposit to ensure the safety of the transaction, and then sent a WeChat payment QR code... After one operation, Xiao Wang realized that he might have been cheated, but he could not contact the buyer.

After the incident, Xiao Wang called the police.

After investigation by the public security organs, Xiao Wang fell into the trap of online fraud. The person involved in the case Liu used the mobile phone number and verification code provided by the code-receiving platform to register accounts on some related apps, fake buyers and customer service, and successfully faked accounts through self-made transfers. The screenshot was taken to obtain the seller's trust, and then the seller was asked to pay a deposit and other fees to defraud money, defrauding Xiao Wang and others for nearly 5,000 yuan.

After investigation, the unregistered mobile phone number and verification code used by Liu's registered account came from a code-receiving platform called "YiMa" (one type uses IoT cards or mobile phone cards without real-name authentication, and received SMS verification The code is used to register the platform of the network account, in order to achieve the purpose of batch registration or to bypass the real-name authentication).

The code receiving platform is an upstream technology platform hidden behind the black and gray products of the Internet, such as "killing pigs", online naked chats, and online fraud, to provide convenience and profit for cybercriminal activities.

Provide a channel for the network black and gray industry

According to clues from the Yima platform, the public security organs of Taizhou City and Luqiao District arrested 12 criminal suspects such as Zhang and Sang in 2019 after 4 months of special investigations, and seized more than 100,000 "black cards".

Zhang is a native of Chongqing, born in the 1980s, a university degree in physical education, and he likes to play games.

When playing games, he found that every time he registered a game account with his mobile phone, he would often receive harassing text messages.

Once, he talked about this trouble with a netizen nicknamed "Boss" (at large) and learned a way to avoid trouble.

At that time, the netizen "boss" was constructing the EasyCode platform, which could provide services without real-name registration.

After learning that Zhang had been engaged in e-commerce and other network work after graduating from university, he invited Zhang to be responsible for the operation of the platform and promised to give him 20% of the shares.

Thinking that he didn't have other suitable jobs, Zhang took this job.

He bought the domain name and URL, rented a server, and found relevant card dealers to access the platform on the Internet, and then began to operate the EasyCode platform to provide a steady stream of mobile phone numbers and verification codes for black-produced personnel.

So, how does the Yima platform make money?

The platform connects card vendors and users. Card vendors can use the "cat pool" device to insert dozens to hundreds of virtual cards at the same time. The "cat pool" connects to the platform, which can automatically read and send verification codes in batches. The platform sells the received verification code to the user.

At first, the business of Yima platform did not improve.

In the spring of 2018, Zhang once changed his way of making money and went to Thailand to do cross-border e-commerce.

But the business didn't do well, and finally I returned to the EasyCode platform.

  learn from mistakes.

This time, Zhang asked someone to promote the platform online, but he did not expect that he would be on the right path.

Starting from the second half of 2018, the number of platform user registrations and the number of card merchants has soared, and the income has become better and better.

From 2016 to September 2019, Zhang made a profit of more than 3.6 million yuan.

Gang members have been arrested

At the initial stage of the Yima platform, Zhang asked his former colleague to work as part-time customer service, answering customer questions online, and giving her a monthly salary of 1,000 yuan to 3,000 yuan.

Later, the platform business became better, and the daily workload was too much for two people to be too busy. So Zhang recruited 4 customer service personnel, with a monthly salary of 10,000 yuan and an English speaker of 15,000 yuan per month.

The money collected by the platform needs to be managed by someone.

Zhang also asked Feng, a high school classmate, to be responsible for financial management, with a monthly salary of 20,000 yuan. The second year's income was good, and his monthly salary rose to 30,000 yuan per month.

The transfer of funds requires a large number of bank cards. Zhang found 4 people including "Qianqian" and borrowed other people's bank cards and business licenses for the transfer of funds by paying transfer commissions, bank card monthly fees, and business license processing fees.

The customer service is responsible for connecting users, and the card vendor provides "two cards" resources.

For the smooth operation of the EasyCode platform, card vendors are indispensable.

Sang Mou, a "post-80s" game fan, is one of the card dealers. He learned about the EasyCode platform when he searched for information on the Internet because his game account needed to be unblocked.

After Sang mastered how to use the Yima platform, he successively purchased 100,000 mobile phone cards and 26 sets of "cat pool", and connected about 20,000 virtual mobile phone cards to the Yima platform, making a profit of more than 230,000 yuan.

Because there is no need to verify the real identity to use the Yima platform, most users use the platform to engage in a black and gray industry that is on the edge of the law.

Just like the online fraud that Xiao Wang encountered at the beginning, the EasyCode platform provides help and convenience to criminals.

After investigation, the Yima platform coexisted more than 18.8 million mobile phone numbers, connected to more than 1,900 upstream "cat pool" dens, with more than 1.7 million user registrations, and 48,850 projects with verification codes.

After the incident, all 12 persons involved in the case took the initiative to return the stolen goods.

Considering that some of the persons involved in the case have no previous record, some have just graduated from university, and some are still college students, the Luqiao District Procuratorate comprehensively considered the status, role, and circumstances of the involved persons in the joint crime, and finally rejected the 7 suspects. The decision to prosecute, prosecute Zhang, Sang, Fanfan, Feng, and Qian Qian to the court.

A few days ago, the court made a first-instance judgment against Zhang and other five defendants, and the judgment has now taken effect.

The prosecutor who handled the case stated that in this case, the crimes on the EasyCode platform involved mobile phone cards, virtual cards, Internet of Things cards and bank cards, and third-party platform accounts.

According to the requirements of the "broken card" action, if a card is involved in a case, all cards or businesses under its name may be suspended, which will have a great impact on life. The majority of "card owners" must not touch the legal bottom line for a little profit.
