• The coronavirus got the better of the two 2020 and 2021 editions of the Main Square festival.

  • The next one is to take place in 2022, in Arras, with Sting headlining.

  • For 2021, the organization of the festival has planned several concerts filmed in emblematic places of Hauts-de-France.

Scattered like a puzzle.

The coronavirus epidemic got the better of the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Main Square festival in Arras, the organization having preferred to cancel rather than see a small audience, seated and masked.

However, that does not mean that there will be no Main Square-stamped concert this year.

Better, there will even be several.

If all goes well by then, the next edition of the Main Square festival will take place in July 2022 in Arras.

And when the organization announced the postponement, it also explained that a surprise was in preparation for 2021. This surprise is “Main Square on the go”.

In a press release, received this Wednesday, the festival team explains: "This project involves eight concerts in eight emblematic places in Hauts-de-France".

Beautiful people in beautiful places

On May 31, Patrice will perform on Île aux Fagots des Hortillonnages in Amiens, in the Somme. Marcel and his orchestra will set the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on fire in Lens, in Pas-de-Calais on June 1. In the belfry of Arras town hall, the Feu group! Chatterton will play on June 2. The group Yseult, in piano voice training, will have as stage the Château de Chantilly, in the Oise. From the top of the Haillicourt slag heap will echo the sound of Henri PFR. Skip the Use is going to blow up the waters in the setting of the Familistère de Guise, in Aisne, on June 5. On June 7, at the Elizabethan Theater of the Château d'Hardelot, in Condette, in the Pas-de-Calais, P.R2B will play. The last concert will be given by Chilla at the FRAC Grand Large, in Dunkirk, in the North, on June 10.

“These exclusive concerts will be filmed, captured and broadcast online on the festival's official website as well as on its social networks and those of its partners, on July 2, 3 and 4,” the press release explains.

But there is better.

People who have purchased tickets for the 2020, 2021 or 2022 Main Square editions will have the opportunity to attend the filming of these concerts, "in strict compliance with the health regulations in force".

To do this, you must register on the festival site to participate in the draw.

Quick, because registrations are only open 24 hours from this Wednesday, 10 am.
