Governor Nishiwaki of Kyoto Prefecture has announced that he will request the government to re-extend the state of emergency, which is due on the 31st of this month, in collaboration with Osaka and Hyogo.

He also indicated that he would proceed with adjustments based on the continuation of the current measures regarding the response in the event of a re-extension.

With the deadline for the state of emergency approaching 31st of this month, Kyoto Prefecture will hold a meeting of the countermeasures headquarters tonight to request the government to re-extend the declaration, considering that the medical care provision system has not improved. It is a policy to decide.

Prior to this, Governor Nishiwaki met with the governors of Osaka and Hyogo online, and after the meeting, announced to reporters that the three prefectures would jointly request the government within the 26th.

After that, regarding the response when the declaration is re-extended, he said, "Since there should be no slack, we confirmed the policy of issuing a message to prevent expansion in the three prefectures. Basically, we will continue the current measures." He expressed his intention to proceed with the adjustment while keeping pace with Hyogo and Hyogo.

In addition, Governor Nishiwaki said about the period of re-extension, "We are not deciding and discussing it, but since Okinawa Prefecture is until the 20th of next month, I think it will be a guide."
